Alana Gumbs, B Eng, MBA

Alana holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from York University (1996) and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Honours) - Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto (1991).  Her 25+ years' experience as a Management Consultant spans across industry sectors including retail, financial services, technology and logistics.  Alana has held numerous project management roles and has provided consulting services to well-known client organizations, including Walmart Canada, Shoppers Drug Mart, Citigroup/L&T. Infotech, FedEx and EDS.

Alana has a wide range of experience spanning from planning to implementation.  Her areas of expertise leverage her unique combination of engineering and business backgrounds and include:

Alex J Resnick, CA, CMC.

Alex Resnick is an experienced management consultant who specialises in all areas of corporate performance management and executive analytics.  As a business executive with strengths in leadership, management and implementation, he understands the requirements of a performance management system from an operational perspective.

Alex focuses on large enterprise clients in the area of business intelligence with specialization in improving strategic execution through performance measurement.  He has led a team to develop a unique methodology and software solution for managing the performance of Brokers in the P & C insurance sector. 

As a Chartered Accountant and Certified Management Consultant he has gathered over forty years of experience in international business and technology consulting.  Alex is a published author and respected speaker at international conferences. 

Additional previous experience includes founding and leading a highly successful technology based professional services firm specializing in mid-market ERP implementations as well as holding a partnership in one of the big-four international accounting firms.   

 

Elizabeth Mullan, BSc. OT., OT (c)

Liz Mullan is a management consultant who has held executive positions in operational management and consulted with organizations in Canada, Europe and the Caribbean.

Her areas of expertise include strategic analysis, operations reviews, policy development, marketing, human resources development, and legislative applications in the Health, Community, Education, Rehabilitation and private small business sectors.  This coupled with a vast network make Liz an excellent resource to clients.

Her hands-on knowledge of corporate operations enable her to assist organizations to achieve significant and sustainable strategic and operational improvements, develop new business, create marketing opportunities, and build innovative partnerships, ensuring strategic objectives of all stakeholders are met. 

Liz holds an appointment at the University of Toronto and teaches business and professional courses at the university and community college levels.  Liz is the proud recipient of two prestigious awards from the University of Toronto; recently she received the Colin R. Woolfe award for Excellence in Teaching and in 2011 she received the Community Partners Award for sustained service to the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy.

 Liz has served on several professional Boards of Directors.  Her volunteer contributions include such organizations as Belmont House, The Learning Partnership, JVS, The Centre for Addictions and Mental Health and New Directions and Partners for Change.

 

Pankaj Puri, BA Economics

Pankaj Puri is a senior level consultant with expertise in enterprise risk management, controls and governance, M & A and internal audit.  This combined with his executive level experience in accounting and audit with CIBC, TD Bank, and PWC (formerly Coopers and Lybrand) position him well to positively impact organizational results.

Pankaj focuses on large and mid-size clients across industries and with a specific focus on the financial institutions sector.  Recent engagements include conducting a global survey of financial institutions on Risk Appetite and Enterprise Risk Practices for a Global 50 financial institution; developing enterprise risk management frameworks; and conducting assessment and refinement of internal audit methodology, processes and plans.

He currently sits on a number of Boards including the CEIFB (Canadian Employment Insurance Financing Board - Chair of Audit Committee), and Helping Hands International; and on the Advisory Committees of Kela Medical and NMI Tac Consultants.  He is also a past board member of the United Way of Greater Toronto and the Greater Toronto Regional Council of the Canadian Red Cross.    


Joanne M. Burton, CHRA

Joanne is a healthcare professional with over 35 years of business experience that spans the full spectrum of human resources management.  This includes all aspects of human resource administration such as policy development, strategy development, talent acquisition, privacy, disability management and performance development and accessibility. 

In addition, Joanne has developed a focus in the specialised area of workplace and employee health and wellness.  She has successfully executed the design, development, implementation and administration of small and large scale employee health and wellness programs.  Her approach to organizational and employee health and wellness is based on a simple truth: healthy people + healthy workplaces =  healthy bottom lines.

Joanne applies her broad experience to organizational and employee health and wellness, resulting in an end-to-end strategy that touches all aspects of the employment cycle.

 

When an engagement requires specific skills in areas that are complementary but not part of CIM Professional Service's core competence; such as Team Building; CIM has the capability to leverage its partnership arrangements with other organizations.
